The new Sony Xperia Pro I features a massive 20MP 1″-type stacked-CMOS Exmor RS imaging sensor with built-in DRAM. Only the central ~60% of the imaging area is used (producing a 12MP image) but for a smartphone, that still counts as a large sensor. The main camera offers a 24mm equivalent focal length and 315 PDAF autofocus points, with 90% field coverage. Rounding out the photography hardware is a 16mm equiv. F2.2 ultra-wide camera with a 1/2.5″ sensor, and a 50mm equiv. F2.4 telephoto camera with a 1/2.9″ sensor. All three cameras offer real-time autofocus tracking, and are built for speed. The main camera offers 20fps bursts and 60 AF/AE calculations per second, while the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras can shoot at a respectable 10 fps.
